Personnel

Emily hails from north-central Arkansas and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Arkansas and her Veterinary Technician Specialized Associates from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College. Emily joined the Magee Lab in January 2018 and maintains the mouse colony along with assisting the lab with various research projects.

Elisabeth is from the Metro-East St. Louis area. She studied at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for undergrad before attending the University of Cincinnati, where she received a MS in Biomedical Engineering. Elisabeth joined the Magee lab in fall of 2020. She works on new models of pediatric AML and therapy-related AML.

Tingting was grew up in Anhui, China. She trained at the Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai, where she received her PhD in Cellular Biology. She joined in the Magee lab as a postdoctoral fellow in July 2023. She studies transcriptional and inflammatory mechanisms that regulate pediatric leukemia stem cells. Outside lab, she enjoys hiking, traveling and playing badminton.

He is from Binzhou in East China. He received his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in China. He joined in the Magee lab as a postdoctoral fellow in April 2017. He works on HSC development and developmental switches that drive childhood leukemogenesis.

Jonny grew up in northeast Georgia and attended the University of Georgia – Athens, where he double majored in Cellular Biology and Microbiology. He then studied the interactions between the innate immune system and the microbiota in colon tumorigenesis in the Grace Chen Lab at the University of Michigan as part of the Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP). He is currently a PhD student in the Developmental, Regenerative, and Stem Cell Biology program. He studies hematopoietic stem cells and how leukemia cells hijack normal stem cell self-renewal programs. Outside of lab, Jonny enjoys attending live music events, brewing beer, and playing soccer.

Rohini is from Chennai, India. She obtained undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Engineering and Technology from Anna University. She then obtained her PhD degree from SRM University. Rohini joined the Magee Lab in January 2023. She studies interactions between 7q tumor suppressor genes that are simultaneously mutated in hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and monosomy 7 myelodysplastic syndrome. In her leisure time, she enjoys dancing and cooking.

Riddhi received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from University of Georgia. After graduating, She worked at Meredian Bioplastic inc as a Research Associate. She moved to St. Louis with her husband in 2014. She joined Magee lab in January of 2015 and now manages the lab. Outside of work, Riddhi enjoys taking road trips and spending time with family especially her 4-year-old son.

Helen Wang was born and raised in Chongqing, China. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry major and mathematics minor from Mount Holyoke College in 2018. Wang worked as a research technician at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for two years studying myeloid malignancies. She is currently an MSTP student at Washington University. She is interested in transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms that regulate HSC development and leukemogenesis. Outside lab, Wang enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing the flute.

Jihye is from Seoul, South Korea. Before coming to St. Louis, she studied biology and mathematics at Swarthmore College. Jihye is currently a graduate student in the Developmental, Regenerative, and Stem Cell Biology program, and she is interested in the interplay between the developmental context and mutations that drive pediatric AML. Outside of lab, Jihye enjoys ice skating, watching sports, and building Lego creations.
